The weather has been unseasonably chilly as the edges of  hurricane Irma blow through.   The chill puts in mind the things I must do on the farm in preparation for winter.  Here’s my to do list:

1. sure up chicken coop
   1. get hawk net up
   2. put on door
   3. predator proof with hardware cloth
   4. insulate
   5. fix sliding door
   6. build ramp for chickens
   7. insulate
   8. have electricity fixed
   9. put up brooding lights
   10. figure out some way to keep water from freezing
2. sure up ferring house
   1. put up protection from elements
3. garden
   1. till
   2. wait for soil test results
   3. plant appropriate cover crop
